High in the snow-covered Alpine valleys, God works one of His miracles year after year. In spite of the extremes of sunny days and frozen nights, a little plant called a “soldanelle” survives when you and I would think it impossible.
During the warm summer months, the little plant spreads its leaves wide and flat over the ground to soak up the sun’s rays. That energy is stored in its roots for the coming winter and spring. When spring arrives, life stirs in the little plant. As it sprouts, the heat from its energy to produce flowers forms a small dome-shaped pocket of snow above its head.
As it grows the dome grows bigger and higher until the flower is safely formed. Finally, the icy covering of the air compartment gives way and the flower bursts forth. This little flower should speak to our hearts and remind us to bloom no matter what occurs in our lives.
As Christians, our lives should be bound to Jesus, and whenever the icy cold world tries to hold us down and prevent us from blooming, we need to remember God is on our side, protecting us and helping us to shine through whatever “Icy dome” is forming over us. Just like that little plant, our lives should reflect the dome of Christ, which is over us at all times. That does not mean we are immune from problems, but these problems pale in the light of Christ’s love and protection over us.

Romans 5:1-4
- Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
- through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
- And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance,
- and perseverance, character and character, hope.
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less
1) My hope is built on nothing less,
Than Jesus' Blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name
Chorus
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
2) When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
3) His oath, His covenant, His blood
Supports me in the 'whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay.
4)When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne.
