Musings On God’s Word

I’ve been thinking this week about how we as Christians and non Christians perceive or understand God. It reminded me of an old song sung by an old country singer by the name of Hank Snow. The song was written by Stuart Hamblen who also wrote “It is no Secret”

The thought behind the song comes from Psalm 47:2-6

2) For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is the great King over all the earth.

3) He will subdue the peoples under us
and the nations under our feet.

4)He will choose our inheritance for us,
The excellence of Jacob whom He loves  Selah 

5)God has gone up with a shout 
The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6)Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

How Big is God

1) Though man may strive to go beyond the reef of space. 
To crawl beyond the distant glimmering stars
This world's a room so small within my Master's house
The open sky but a portion of His yard.

How big is God, How big and wide His vast domain
To try to tell these lips can only start
He's big enough to rule His mighty universe
Yet small enough to live within my heart

2) As winter chill may cause the tiny seed to fall
To lie asleep 'til waked by summer's rain
The heart grown cold will warm and trod with life anew
The Master's touch will bring the glow again

Scripture describes God as an overwhelmingly big and awesome Being, unmatched power, authority and majesty.

He is portrayed as the Creator of the universe, whose understanding is unsearchable, whose power is limitless, and who is “mighty and awesome,” particularly in His justice, strength and sovereign control over all creation.

There is a word used to describe how we should see and feel his presence.

Omnipresent: Referring to God “present everywhere at the same time”

How big is God in your life. I pray He is no. 1. Our lives depend on it. We need God and our Faith to have the preeminence in our life. The criteria being our Faith and Trust in Him. Let’s remember who God and Jesus really are and enjoy His comfort by knowing He walks beside us every moment of the day.
