Musings on God’s Word
We’ve just passed Thanksgiving and I know that all of us have so much to be thankful for. However, I see a world full of war, hate, unhappiness, selfishness.
What’s missing?
Christ is missing!
Our message of Salvation needs to be spread far and wide.
We had the privilege of a guest at our Men’s bible study this week. Mr. Louis Voyer, a commended worker who travels the province speaking at many chapels and assemblies. He participated in our study in John 19. What a blessing it was to have him share and be present with us. The portion of John we have been looking at over the past few weeks reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus made for everyone. We who have accepted His Salvation are so blessed but so many are still ‘outside the fold’. Our efforts to win the lost and share the message of forgiveness and Salvation need to be doubled. I believe Christ’s return is near. However, I have no knowledge of precisely when.
Ephesians 5: 15-17
- See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
- redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Therefore do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Matthew 24:3-8 tells us to be watchful as we ask the same question the disciples asked privately.
- Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”
- And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
- For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
- And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass but the end is not yet.
- For nation, will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.
- All these are the beginning sorrows.
This passage goes on to speak of much more to come and The Great Tribulation.
Our security is in the Lord Jesus Christ. All these will come to pass but for us we need to stand firm in our faith, never falter and trust in the strength of our Lord.
With our faith strong and our guidance sure we can rest in the fact that God loves and cares for us and will see us through the ups and downs of life.
Be thankful for all things, good and bad, for they are the lessons and learning opportunities of life. God’s message is clear.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
- Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
- in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight
God’s richest blessing on you all
