Musings on God’s Word
I’ve been thinking about the word Faith again this week. Not what we call our beliefs but that thing within us that accepts our beliefs and holds true to them.
King David came to mind. Not as the King but as a boy. He trusted his God so that as a boy he took care of sheep but fended off wild animals as he did it.
His faith and trust in his God gave him the strength and ability to take care of things that one might assume would have been impossible for a young boy.
Where did that faith, confidence and strength come from? In David’s day that came from the teachings of his Father and what he would have heard from the teachers of the day.

That verse seems to apply to David. It starts with “Fear not,”
I (God) am with you.
Then it assures David who He is “I am your God”
and it goes on to talk about strength, help and upholding.
All the things we need to keep our Faith strong.
David went on to slay a giant warrior. Think about that boy against a giant. What else did David have but his faith that God would see him through plus a sling and 3 stones.
Are our problems any bigger than David’s who went on to face many obstacles in his life including efforts to kill him.
Let’s let our faith be as strong as Davids.

Last but certainly not least our Faith is in Jesus and is secured in Him.

Our faith needs to be as strong as David’s and completely devoted to Jesus our Savior and King.
All the troubles and difficulties, illnesses and broken relationships can be overcome if we stand fast with our feet firmly planted in the Faith of our Savior and Lord.
Jesus showed us his faith while on earth functioning as a man. No better example is this.
