Getting lost is a problem for many of us. We have such things as GPS or Google maps, but even those can lead us astray.
I read a story recently of a bomber crew in the 2nd World War.
The plane was called Lady-Be-Good. They had flown these bombing missions many times and returned safely from them.
This time they finished their raid and were returning to base. They had instruments that would show them the way which they’d used many times.
This time however, they had a tail wind, and as I learned recently, a tail wind can make quite a difference to how a plane flies and lands. It so happened there was a very strong tail wind and instead of depending on their instruments, they refused to believe them, and were confident they were still miles away from home based on the time elapsed.
Unfortunately not looking at their instruments they ended up flying past their home base and crashed with no survivors.
Having a guide in life is important. What is even more important is paying attention to the guide.
Christianity has a guide and that’s the Lord Jesus Christ and His guide book that was left for us — the Bible.
If we look at Proverbs 14:12 we see what happens if we fail to follow our guide. This verse is repeated in Proverbs 16:25

When verses are repeated or thoughts are repeated we are reminded how important they are.
When we think back to our lost flyers we can see the same thing repeated often in the 21st century.
Good, well meaning, intelligent people travelling on a collision course with death, completely unaware of their destiny.

All of us need guides in life. The true and faithful guide is Christ and His book, the Bible to help lead the way through the pitfalls, dangers and troubles of life.
Let’s be sure our faith is well grounded and heading in the right direction.
A Hymn I haven’t heard in years goes like this.
The Whole World Was
Lost In The Darkness Of Sin
1)The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Like sunshine at noonday, His glory shone in;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Chorus
Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see;
The light of the world is Jesus.
2) No darkness have we who in Jesus abide,
The light of the world is Jesus;
We walk in the light when we follow our Guide,
The light of the world is Jesus.
3) Ye dwellers in darkness with sin-blinded eyes,
The light of the world is Jesus;
Go, wash, at His bidding, and light will arise;
The light of the world is Jesus.
May we all follow that light, Christian and Non Christian.
Our Guide and our keeper is Jesus.
God’s richest blessings on you all.
