Musings on God’s Word
There’s a Hymn we haven’t sung for a while which goes like this.
Living For Jesus, A Life That Is True
Verse 1
Living for Jesus, a life that is true, Striving to please Him in all that I do;
Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free, This is the pathway of blessing for me.
Refrain
O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to thee,
For thou, in Thy Atonement, didst give Thyself for me;
I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne
My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone
Verse 2
Living for Jesus Who died in my place, Bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace
Such love constrains me to answer His call, Follow His leading and give Him my all.
Verse 3
Living for Jesus, wherever I am, Doing each duty in His holy Name;
Willing to suffer affliction and loss, deeming each trial a part of my cross.
Verse 4
Living for Jesus through earth’s little while, My dearest treasure, the light of His smile;
Seeking the lost ones He died to redeem, Bringing the weary to find rest in Him..
The unsaved of the world are always looking to live in ways to mostly please themselves. Our Pathway should be living for Him on the journey to Heaven!
Terry & Lois are headed to Kelowna to attend Loretta’s service. which requires travel on BC Ferries. These days getting on the ferry is difficult. It most often requires a reservation, otherwise you may or may not get where you’re going.
There’s another destination that requires a reservation. That destination is Heaven. As I pondered the risk of not getting on the ferry and not making it to Heaven, Which is the greater risk?
If we miss a ferry, it is inconvenient for sure, but probably not life or death but certainly important when a destination is ahead and the need is to be there at a certain time. On the other hand Heaven is assured if you have the appropriate reservation. A reservation available to all. Only one action required. AND no reservation fee.
Acceptance of our Lord and Savior as your personal Savior. Forgiveness of sins required. How hard can it be? Yet we see millions of people going to a lost eternity not wanting to follow our Savior. And unable to take advantage of the reservation in Heaven.
Yet so many are looking for satisfaction in life but in so many unsuccessful ways
I never will understand the mindset of those who turn down that opportunity for Life Eternal and not make that best reservation.
2 Corinthians 5:1
- We know that if the earthly tent (body) we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in Heaven, not built by human hands.
I recently paid extra for an extended warranty on a product. We’ve now had to use it a second time. Eventually it will run out and the product could and will fail completely sometime in the future. Guarantees and reservations here on earth have a limited value and existence.
The reservation and guarantee we should have is the Salvation of our Souls and Heaven too look forward to.
Food for thought to share with friends and family.
God’s richest blessing on you all
