Musings on God’s Word
Here we are again. My how the time flies and it seems to be faster as we get older.
Having just passed the 83rd year the clichés we heard as young ones now ring so true.
One issue that seems to have become more important as the time goes by is the concern over friends and family who have not given their heart and lives to our Savior Jesus Christ.
As I share the message of salvation with some, the response seems to be a lack of even thinking about their future, Particularly when it pertains to our life after death. So how do we make the message clear and understandable?
First we need the Holy Spirit to speak to us to speak to them. We need to be ready in season and out to share the Gospel whenever the opportunity permits. It may be a question they’ve asked or it may be our soft and kind approach to the matter. In any case time is running out for all of us and for those outside of Christ it is a much more urgent matter.
The world and society holds their attention and little interest is paid to things of Christ, Salvation and end of life matters.
The question is where will you spend eternity. I recently asked this question of a family member and the response was “I hadn’t thought about it”‘
As a matter of fact, when I look back on my younger self, “even though I was saved at 17” it’s taken a long time to reach the maturity as a Christian that should have been there a long time ago.
Romans 3:23
- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Here we have the simple message in scriptures.
- We are all sinners
- We need the forgiveness of Jesus Christ in order to receive eternal life.
A free gift, not to be ignored but to be accepted.
Our Faith in God and Jesus is the key. Salvation is the answer and the question remains! What will happen after one dies?
Ephesians 2:8
- For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
“Where do you want to spend eternity?”
What a Day That Will Be
What a day that will be
When My Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face
The one who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the promised land
What a day, Glorious day that will be.
God’s richest blessing on you all
