Musings on God’s Word
Well! This has been an interesting week beginning with the event on Sunday last, where our brother Frank collapsed and we looked after him until the paramedics could take him off to Hospital. As a follow up you should know he was home by 3:30 Sunday afternoon and in fact has felt well enough to attend Men’s fellowship on Tuesday, Coffee Wednesday morning at the A&W as well as our Keen agers luncheon today. Wow isn’t God Good.
God Means It for Good

Genesis 50:20
- You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
After a lengthy bout with despair, severe depression, and suicide attempts, writer and poet William Cowper (1731–1800) discovered comfort in God’s providence, which led him to write “Shining out of Darkness”:
Mr. Cowper was also a hymn writer and the following is one of his well known hymns.
God moves in a mysterious way,
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never-failing skill,
He treasures up his bright designs,
And works his sovereign will.Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence,
He hides a smiling face.
Can you think of instances in your own life, with the advantage of 20-20 hindsight, wherein someone or something meant evil against you, “but God meant it for good”? Thank and praise Him for it—and for His continual providence.
I don’t believe Frank’s event was meant for evil but it sure brought out the family relationship in our congregation when it came to looking after Frank.
Today was another successful Keenagers with a slightly smaller number of people but our speaker Joan Getman (Petunia) gave us food for thought about the threads of life that connect us from beginning to end. I can attest to that.

Chapel Update
- There is ongoing work being done to the chapel.
- New set of stairs outside the emergency exit by the piano and the railing on the ramp is being upgraded.
- Also a repair was done to the bottom end of the ramp to ensure safety for ramp users.
- More work to follow on the ramp railing.
- Parking lot upgrade to come just waiting for the contractor to provide a date.

Oh , wish I had known about keenagers today. I could have come. I assume that it is for seniors?
My granddaughter is looking for a place to worship where she can take her 10 year old or 11 year old son for Sunday school. Somebody there told her and we’ve been a couple of times and as no children she is still looking..
