Musings on God’s Word
These days are filled with information and news regarding the cares of the world and society.
Political outcomes, wars, famines, Health care, relationships, so many that it can lay heavy on our hearts.
May I suggest we concentrate on what the Lord has done for those of us “Born again, Christians! Saved and looking for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The world will even suggest meditation of one kind or another but our scriptures tell us what to meditate on that will overcome the cares of the world.
Philippians 4:8-9 which in my Bible are headed “Meditate on these things.”
- Finally brethren whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.
- The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
So says Paul, the Apostle.
So our scriptures provide the answers to today’s stresses. If we spend our time looking at life through our Christian blessings and the things outlined in Philippians 4:8&9 we can see how life can be lived with reduced stresses and worries. If we go back two verses from the ones I quoted we can see where the worry and stresses in life can be removed.
Philippians 4:6-7
- Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
- and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The answers are all there. Where? In God’s word, the Bible. Let’s reduce the cares and worries of the world by concentrating on God’s blessing and promises.
God’s richest blessing on you all
