Musings From Gods Word
There’s an old country music song about a long distance trucker that goes like this:
“Six days on the road and I’m going to make it home tonight”
We were 9 days on the road out of 15 days away and we made it home safe and sound at 7pm Tuesday night Sept 24th.
3600 kilometres travelled and visited 27 people along the way. Some friends, some family with a number of them dealing with health issues of various severities. This will be the last long distance road trip we will take but every stop was a blessing. When you get to spend time with so many Christian friends and family and share memories and hopes for the future around Christian values it was a very worthwhile trip.
Many things reminded us of God’s care and keeping as we travelled. Little problems become no problems as we believe God cares for the little things as well as the big things if we just put our faith and trust in Him. It works. Flat tires became a non issue, ferry schedules resolved themselves. Friends and family go out of their way to accommodate a visit. Even got to attend the seniors luncheon in Kamloops First Baptist Church and join in the singing of some old hymns and choruses. What a blessing from the beginning to the end. Praise the Lord. God’s presence manifested itself in the scenery all around us. The mountains, the rivers, the trees, the cattle on a thousand hills, the golden crops of grain, and Barb’s favorite things, CLOUDS. Across the prairies the sky and the clouds therein are a sight to behold! Many pictures taken.
Our favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5 & 6
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.
- In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.
AND HE DID
Deuteronomy 31:8
- And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you, He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
Again His word is true and faithful!
Isaiah 46:4
- Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
God did take us there and bring us back. and for that we are, of all people, most grateful.
Much of the reason we made the trip was to see some ill relatives and friends. One friend of a relative passed away even while we were there. Visits with those going through difficult times but their Faith and Trust was secure in God.
Romans 8:38 & 39 says it all.
- For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come.
- nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God’s richest blessing on you all
