Lighthouse Harbour Ministries’ Naniamo

Mission Statement is: To love and honour God by serving the seafarers of the world in word and deed. Since most of the seafarers that the Ministry serves already have their primary physical needs met on their ships, the Lighthouse is able to concentrate its efforts on sharing the Gospel of Christ with them. At times, however, the Ministry is called upon to provide practical/social assistance to seafarers and we consider our response to be a very important aspect of serving the Lord.

Victoria Seafarers Ministry

Today, every seafarer crew who comes to the Victoria Lighthouse Crew Centre has a phone or device in hand giving them the ability to communicate with their family and friends in many different ways: calls, texts, emails, video chats and more.  (Did you know that seafarers do not always have access to the Internet while they are at sea?)

Our culture has never been more connected and yet, loneliness remains one of the top challenges for most people and especially seafarers.  The key to alleviating loneliness is relationships—with God and each other.  The Victoria Seafarers Ministry is able to help the Crew keep connected to their family and friends around the world as well as sharing the love of Christ with them.

The Ministry is called upon to provide practical assistance to seafarers and we consider our response to be a very important aspect of serving the Lord.

  • We provide free Wifi access, allowing communication with family and friends.
  • We provide free refreshments and a place to relax during their time off from their ship duties.
  • We offer, with compassion and friendship, a listening ear, prayer support, Christian literature and transportation to shopping or touring Victoria, as we are able.

We are pleased to have this website to communicate our mission to the community of Victoria and our faithful supporters. In addition, the website serves as a ‘beacon of light’ to all seafarers as they travel the globe.

Thank you for visiting our website! We encourage you to come visit our crew tent and consider how you can help minister to seafarers.

Our Daily Bread

Our mission is clear: to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all.

The Cowichan Valley Basket Society

(CVBS) was started in 1988 by a broadly based group of Cowichan Valley residents who saw a great need for a coordinated answer to hunger in the area. CVBS is a registered charity overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Some board members are appointed by our sustaining donors, and the rest are caring members of the community that have become members of the society.

Our first premises was opened on Evans Street. From there we have made several moves but our current home on Garden Street we trust is our permanent home as we have purchased the property in 2015 and in 2022 the neighbouring property.

Capenwray Bible School

“… I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me…” – Galatians 2:20

The first Capernwray Bible School started in the Northwest of England by Major W. Ian Thomas, a British Army officer who served during World War II. In 1946, led by faith, Thomas and his wife purchased an old country estate known locally as Capernwray Hall, and in 1948 the British government arranged to have 30 German youth participate in the first summer programme there.
