Musings on God’s Word
Having spent the last 6+ days rather ‘shut down’ due to a severe cold it gives one additional time for some serious contemplation.
As I ponder my age and state of life you can see how life moves from a giving state to a receiving state. You also begin to realize how little value there is in the things one owns compared to the priceless value of life eternal with our Heavenly Father and Son.
My searching mind settled on the word giving and how we are motivated to give or not. That covers both practically and spiritually, which of course brings to mind a song.
He Giveth More Grace
1) He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase,
To added affliction He addeth His mercy
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
Chorus
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men,
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth and giveth and giveth again.
2) When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half-done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving has only begun.
So “Giving” what does that word mean to you? What thoughts does it create? What remembrances does it bring to mind?I’ll let you folks answer those questions yourselves but I’d like to explore the word “Giving” from a Biblical perspective.
I see the word giving in the very first verse of the Bible

What a gift! so beautiful, so vast, so rich, so awesome. This is giving in its finest form. Really! What more could anyone ask for. A gift of immeasurable value.
So that’s the first giving. I’m going to keep this simple so let’s move to the 2nd gift.
Jesus death and resurrection. What a wonderful, expensive gift. A ‘life’ for ‘lives’.

NEED I SAY MORE?
My 3rd giving is found in John 3:16

The joy of knowing when the good and the bad of our earthly life is over we have the secure Hope of eternity in Heaven with Jesus Christ our Lord.Check Revelation for the facts of eternal life and the joys of Heaven.
This brings me to my final thought. After those three givings are accessed we need only to follow.
God bless you all as you accept these gifts and lean on Him.
