Musings on God’s Word
As I pondered my devotion this week a portion of scripture referred to by our speaker came to mind from the book of Proverbs. One of my favorite books of the Bible.
In this case I landed on Chapter 10 of Proverbs and want to share a couple of verses that I believe speak volumes of life in general and our lives as Christians.

There was a moment as I read this that I had to think about what exactly this says? Then it hit me.
Fathers are guided more by their minds, while Mothers have a heart for those they love. I can therefore see a father rejoicing in a son who makes wise decisions, while a mothers heart will break when any child goes astray.
That’s not to say that a Father isn’t disappointed when a son makes a poor decision or a Mother is pleased when a good decision is made. What it says is the response is different between the Mother and the Father. When our children make good decisions and love the Lord our God we are blessed with much joy in life.
With that in mind, we need to think about how our Father God and His Son Jesus feel when we as Christians make poor decisions or fail to live our Christian lives to the fullest.
Then there’s the condition of the world at large.

Does that not speak volumes regarding the differences between the world (unsaved society) and what our Christian lives should look like. Accumulating stuff is valueless while accumulating treasures in Heaven should be the Christians goal. Lay your burdens at the feet of Jesus and trust in him to provide all your needs and the odd want. Eternity with Jesus in Heaven is the result of that faith.

Is that not a top notch promise? As far as I’m concerned that is where our strength is. Lay hold on that promise and allow your life to be guided by it.

The world is in turmoil because of the results of hatred. We see it in the news headlines every day. Random shootings all over the world. Along with acts of terrorism.
Meanwhile we remember the Love of Jesus, who gave His life for all mankind. “A life for Lives”. Is there any greater love than what Jesus showed for sinful men?
Just think of it, His was a sacrificial gift, beyond measure, beyond price and beyond man’s understanding.
Let us rejoice in the love Jesus has for everyone.
The only glitch is that the sinful man turns his back on that gift and continues to live in sin.
Please make it your prayer priority to pray for sinners and that each of us will take advantage of opportunities to share God’s message of Love with all we meet. Whether it’s done in your life’s example or using words, we as Christians are obligated to share our Joy of living and message of Salvation.
