How many of you remember the days of your childhood or youth.

You may have participated in foot races of one kind of another and the person in charge would yell, Ready, Set, Go!

Off you would go to try and win the race.

READY???

Life is a race but are you ready?

For Christians it’s the acceptance of our Lord and Savior and the grace of Salvation for those who believe.

Our Bible teaches that a Christian’s eternal salvation is a free gift of grace but heavenly rewards are distinct commendations given by God for faithful service.

Salvation is a gift not a reward. While getting ready is the necessary action that leads to eternal life.
One decision leading to a gift and rewards.

The question is are we ready. Have we made that decision and chosen the better path? The path of Salvation.

As an earthly expression, getting ready is when we pack for a trip, plan for a day or a meeting. These are aspects of getting ready.

Being ready also includes the issue of Christ’s return to take his saved ones home.

Matthew gives a clear picture of what being ready means in a Christians life.

No matter what’s happening in the world around us we, as Christians, owe our future to our Lord and Savior which requires us to watch, wait and be ready.

SET!!

Paul provided some very good advice in Ephesians

There is certainly no doubt that the “days are evil”. We see it at every level of society.

One of the most destructive situations we have is the disintegration of the family.

Society and Governments have taken the lead in supporting family descriptions other than what the Bible teaches.

Keeping a strong, Faith based family, is coming under attack more and more.

As Christians we must make every effort to follow God’s teaching as to the family and our whole life.
There are also other groups besides Christians that value a faith based family with high moral behavior.

Making good choices is the key to life in general. With the number one choice being to accept Christ as our personal Savior.

Stand Strong! Get Set!!

1 Corinthians 16:13 tells believers to stay alert, stand firm in their faith, and be strong.

In addition we must be ready to share our faith under whatever circumstances we face in life.

A hymn that I think asks the appropriate question.

Are You Washed in the Blood?
1) Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow'r?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
2) Are you walking daily by the Savior's side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

3) When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?
4)Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

As Christians we must make every effort to follow God’s teaching as to the family and our whole life.
