Musings on Scripture
I have a presence on Facebook which I use to share thoughts on things and sometimes pick up tidbits of truth that I enjoy. This past week I read the following which struck me as a picture of the times we are living in.
A Lie does not become truth,
Wrong does not become right,
and evil does not become good,
Just because it’s accepted by a majority
Proverbs 19: 1, 3, 5, 16, & 28
- Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool
- Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool
- A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will not escape.
- He who keeps the commandments keeps his soul. but he who is careless of his ways will die.
- A disreputable witness scorns justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
Proverbs 19: 2, 6, & 7
- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes But the Lord weighs the hearts.
- Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.
- The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice.
We see in these few verses the results of the lies, wrong behavior, and the evil men do will come to punishment and death, the death of the unbeliever. On the other hand we also see clearly how important it is, to be Saved from death through the death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
Proverbs 19: 23
- The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil.
Praise God for our Salvation and the Life eternal it provides. The evil we see in the world cannot be ignored but we must rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior to withstand the conditions around us and the fiery darts of the Devil (Satan) AMEN
God’s richest blessing on you all
