Here we are again. Boy time flies. I’m writing this on Jan. 31st 2024, one month into 2024. And that’s the way it is.
I have to confess I enjoy some old fashioned country music. Along with my Gospel Hymns. One of the older country songs written a few years ago has a line in it that got me thinking.
“You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything”
Is that where our world is today? Does it stand for nothing and anything is acceptable, right or wrong?
As I pondered those words I found them to have application to us as Christians.
Our lives stand for Jesus Christ as we aim to live our Christianity in the community. Another line in the song says “Never compromise what’s right”.
That’s our challenge! Never compromise what Jesus and the Bible teach us. Our Faith needs to be strong and to stand up and out in the world in which we live.
We can clearly see how the world is falling for every lie and deceit the Devil throws at them. Our governments and corporations are preaching the gospel of hell. Leading society down the path of destruction. I heard recently how the Canadian federal government is considering adding mental health as an opportunity for assisted suicide. I cannot believe how governments are taking us down that destructive path.
1st Corinthians 16:13-14
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
Let all that you do be done with love.
The love for others and in particular our love for the lost should be front and centre in everything we do. Sharing our story of conversion is our best testimony.
Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow” Boy, that’s a lot of responsibility. Anything less is unacceptable.
We are provided with sound instruction and the plan we can follow as Christians. We must stand for our Faith, Defend our Salvation, and let others know that God loves them and so do we. Our Faith is the key to staying strong no matter what the world throws at us. The efforts of Satan to bring us down are growing and growing. His influence has changed the course of civilization even further towards sin and degradation.
We are provided with sound instruction and the plan we can follow as Christians. We must stand for our Faith, Defend our Salvation, and let others know that God loves them and so do we. Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service
I believe this sums it up well as we face our enemy the Devil. Hold on to the faith, pray for strength and wisdom and make every effort to win the Lost for the Lord.
