There was an item on TV news recently about a group of women in the USA who are trying out a tea made from hallucinogenic mushrooms. They were trying to deal with their depression, stress and other similar ailments. I couldn’t help thinking of all the ways society is trying to relieve stress, deal with demons or as one of them put it “discover themselves”. After drinking the tea they put on masks and lay on beds waiting for the results. The results? One got sick, one cried & cried, another lay smiling and one older lady just lay still and not moving. Their comments afterwards did not seem to indicate they had solved any of their real or perceived problems.
I have a solution.

Commentary
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters. Is there anything more peaceful than green pastures or still waters? If our Lord and Savior can do this we know we can face whatever comes our way.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Shepherds are known for their care & keeping of sheep. Usually some of the most dedicated and careful people one could know. Well I know a Shepherd who is the best there can be. Our Lord and Savior will care for you no matter what the situation. Sickness, worry, relational, financial or whatever the case may be. Now, I’m not saying he’ll change what is happening. It may be that you will receive strength, comfort and peace to deal with whatever the problem is. Ask the Good Shepherd to give you the answers.
A good many of our problems and issues come from going down the wrong path or following the wrong leader. Let Jesus restore your path and bring you to that peace and comfort of depending on Him.

Many are facing the health issues that old age and time bring on. Our faith in our Lord & Savior is where we need to place these matters. Give them over to Him. Don’t bear these burdens alone.
All of us are looking at the world around us and can even see enemies rearing their heads in the day and age we are living. When God prepares our table and anoints us with the oil of blessing, what should we fear? Our Father in Heaven knows our pain and discomforts we need to let him bear them for us.
God’s promises and the most important one is where our view should be as we consider what the future holds as Christians. Eternity in Heaven with Jesus. What more could we ask for? What more can we need.? Praise Him! Praise Him! and lay your burdens at His feet
